San Antonio ISD has awarded Legacy Home Improvements a five-year contract for general maintenance services, parts, repairs, supplies and equipment, covering the district's 80+ campuses across the city. The award falls under solicitation RFP 26-013, and the term runs from 2026 through 2031.
For a locally owned San Antonio company, being trusted with work at that many public buildings is the kind of thing you spend a career earning. We have been on roofs in this city since 1999. Now that work can include the campuses our neighbors send their kids to.
What the Award Covers
The contract is a general maintenance and repair agreement, and roofing is where Legacy does the heavy lifting: inspections, leak repairs, low-slope and metal systems, storm damage assessments and full replacements. Work is issued campus by campus through purchase orders as the district identifies needs, so there is no lump sum attached to the award itself.
Practically, it means the district has a vetted local roofing company on call instead of starting a bid process every time water shows up on a ceiling tile.
First Roofing Company in San Antonio to Earn Premier Status
Legacy was also the first roofing company in San Antonio to earn Premier status in the City of San Antonio Development Services Department's Contractor Connect program. Premier is the top of the program's three categories, and it takes at least five years of registration with the department, code certification, and a clean record on building related complaints.
It is not a rating and the city does not recommend contractors, so nobody should read it as an endorsement. What it does tell a property owner is that we have pulled permits in San Antonio for years without leaving a mess behind us.
Who Did the Work
Melissa French, Legacy's commercial business development lead, carried this one from the first bid document through the signed award. Public solicitations are unforgiving about detail, and she did not miss any.
